- „They Should Look Up What Dictator Means!“
Giovanni di Lorenzo’s interview with Erdoğan (in English, because the German version is paywalled). I didn’t expect Erdoğan to be this informed about local things – but then again, of course he is.

- Greetings, E.T. (Please Don’t Murder Us.)
Long piece about METI, which does not search for aliens, but wants to message them. My view on the topic changed quite significantly while reading Cixin Liu’s Three Body Problem trilogy, which is now right on top there with Stephenson’s Anathem on my list of favorite books. Anyway, in the article in the NY Times Magazine, Johnson explores some aspects of SETI and METI, mainly philosophical. One quote: »Perhaps technologically advanced societies do flicker on and off like fireflies, but it’s not a sign that they’re self-destructive; it’s just a sign that they got cable.« I like the picture.
- The Uninhabitable Earth
A dire look at climate change, with aspects I hadn’t even considered before. Very depressing. I’m sad now. We’re all doomed. (Well, we might not be as strongly as Wallace-Wells suggests…)
